More than it meets the eye

And so we watched this...


















... but it was seriously so not planned.
met up with yun to redeem her free tix @ cineleisure, planned to watch The Girl who leapt through time. BUT, the last show for the day was SOLD OUT, with cinemas giving way for the Blockbuster TRANSFORMERS. As i was stuck in the jam, yun just redeemed 2 tix for Hot Fuzz @ 2040h.

Not exactly keen on it but will see how our after-dinner mood was. So we had dinner and later decided we shall give up Hot Fuzz and walk down to Lido to see what else is there to watch.

Upon reaching, staring at the fast selling tix for most shows. Half of the shows we don't know what the h*ll they were. Then came along this guy, probably our age or even younger, looking pretty flustered...
Guy: Hello, do u all want to watch Transformers? i have 2 tix here which i won't be watching, just wonder if u want to take them?
us: erm....
Guy: it's the 9:45 show which is sold out now...
us: erm....
Guy: I'll give it to u for 8 dollars each!
us: erm....
Guy: good center seats!
yun: ok.... erm...so how much should i pay u?
Guy: alright, i'll give u for 7 dollars?
me: (fishes out 14 bucks) ok...

Hmmm... even before we could scrutinize the tix, the guy was gone in a poof! For a moment we were worried we were conned! but heck! it's 14 bucks only! not 1400!
so we entered the cinema, wondering if ROW T was a hoax, but it turned out to be one of the BEST SEATS in the cinema... so the guy was not joking about the good center seats.

And so we started to speculate how come the guy wanted to sell the tics. He looked like he was ready for a date. Not in work clothes, casually dressed, 100% out for fun... so we thought maybe a girl stood him up and he looked desperate to sell it off so he could get some cash back for other stuffs. Crazier speculations came by and haha ... our St nicks teachers trained us well for the imagination... so rubbish!!

Overall the movie was really good, though cheesy (as they tried to add quite some humor into it) at certain parts. As their name goes, TRANSFORMING was really coolz... brings me back to those days sitting together with kor watching the cartoons. He will get all excited when they transform and fight. he will be happily telling me who is the baddie and who is the good. Learning that the EVIL will never beat the GOOD since young.

We were just talking about it the other day... what were we doing when we were young (besides fighting and biting)? We displayed little green soldiers, pretending to fight and i will alwiz lose, seeing no meaning to war; we pretended we were chefs and "cooked" the same old stuffs every time: rubberbands for zeropoint (as noodles), small little frisbees as our coloured plates... and so on.

And of course watching LOADS of GREAT CARTOONS together...
thats when transformers, he-man, spiderman, the mask, GI-JOE etc come in... of course as a girl i will be paying more attention to smurfs(and gargamel), my little pony, carebears (5,4,3,2,1...!), and YAH! GUMMI BEARS (i still remember how to sing that song!)

Arh... back to the movie... from a girl-of-my-age's point of view, it's not directly what i had grew up with... but it's something that has grown up together with us... Even if u are not from my era, it's still entertaining... keeping u at the tip of ur seat with all the actions going on.
