What a Hum-fuL Day

Another ECP outing with the family, and it was spiced with a bit of side-effects from Mr Brown's rendition of the Mai-Hum song.

While Daddy was washing something with the Sea Water, was walking down the beach with Kor and we had this ultra out-of-the-blue discussion about "hums". It first started when we saw this hum lying just beside this small little hole.

Kor was just making a remark: It's alive, u know.
me: duhz, how'd u know?!
Kor: aiyah...it popped out of the hole by itself la!
me: What? How does a hum move?
This was his response:
















I was in disbelief and claimed that he was just being spastic (like he alwayz do). And I went running back to my mom (who was playing nintendo ds tetris with HJ) to ask: Ma.. so how does a hum move?
Mom: huh? what hum? (totally engrossed in her tetris game)
Hengz daddy came back and I asked the same question.
Dad: eh... largely by the tidal movements...
me: ..so do they wriggle on their own on the shore??
Dad: is this some 冷笑话 or something?
me: NO!! i'm serious!! I really want to know!!
*Kor was laughing hysterically on the bike while witnessing all this "interrogation".

me:LET's GO HUNT for HUMS!
** NOTE: Life Science lesson in progress **
Kor: so these are "BARNACLES"... "B-A-R-N-A-C-L-E-S"
me: (looking down on the sandy beach to spot more hums) what barnacles? va-na-kum on TV news then i know.
kor: duhz.. barnacles... see...

me: Whatever...(continues with the hum-searching)

*The Hum-pedition continues*
Kor: mai hum...mai hum mai hum mai hum...
me: ai hum... ai hum ai hum ai hum...
Kor: there's one!
me: (looking around frantically) where?
Kor: There!

*walks somemore*
me: maybe there's one underneathe this spot?
kor: let's dig!
HJ: there's one just right infront of u! it's wriggling out somemore!
me: the tongue! the tongue!
kor: see! i've finally proven my theory! the hum wriggles out on it's own!!

After an unsuccessful wait of the hum wriggle itself out, kor picked it up and gave it a bath in the seawater for the very last time. We trotted back to our pavillion with our proud 2 hums.

back in the pavillion, frantically screamed @ daddy that hums really wriggle, like i've been a really big suaku, but still...
kor decided to open it by heating it up. so our 2 proud hums got to swim in our mom's new found best friend: a mini steampot. (haha)
and soon enough!!! one of it stuck out it's "tongue" @ us...
